Kerala government provided over 2 lakh jobs in a year, says progress report

LDF progress report over two lakh jobs provided in a year

The LDF government in Kerala, which is celebrating its first anniversary, had been able to provide job to 2,12,745 persons in a year, the progress report released by Chief Minister said. The report released by Pinarayi Vijayan also states that the government aims to create 4.58 lakh employment opportunities on completion of ongoing projects. 

The progress report was presented to Malayalam film director Ranjit, at a function marking the conclusion of week-long celebrations of LDF government's first anniversary celebrations. It was an analysis of government's performance vis-a-vis each of the 35 promises they had made in the election manifesto. 

LDF progress report over two lakh jobs provided in a yearThe LDF, had in its election manifesto promised to generate 10 lakh jobs in five years and to provide employment to 25 lakh people. 

The government was also able to expand paddy cultivation in barren lands besides vegetables, the report claimed.

It was stated in the LDF manifesto that every year the government's activities would be evaluated and future programmes would be organised by interacting with the public based on the progress report.

Experts and the general public will be able to make their independent assessment based on the evaluation. Projects that were promised, but were not initiated in the first year have ​also been mentioned in the progress report.
