Kevin murder case: Neenu's father, brother surrender in Kannur

The accused will be soon produced before the investigating officers in Kottayam. Reports also said that Neenu's brother Shanu was working in Dubai, but quit the job and returned to Kottayam to take care of the man who had allegedly married his sister, against the wishes of the family.

The main accused in the Kevin murder case, father and brother of Neenu, wife of victim Kevin had shifted to Bangalore and as the search operations have been intensified they surrendered to police in Kannur.

Soon after the alleged murder of Kevin, the accused had moved to Bangalore for safety. Neenu's father Chacko and brother Shanu Chacko have surrendered in the Karikottakari Police Station in Kannur. One of the prime accused, Neenu's mother is still missing, and there are reports of her hiding in Bengaluru.

Kevin, a Dalit Christian was in love with Neenu, but her parents and family were against her relationship with Kevin as they were not happy with his financial status. When they disapproved of her relationship, she eloped with Kevin and got married to him secretly. However, to ensure her safety she had to live in the hostel. Despite complaints by Neenu and Kevin's parents about his missing, the police did not act. 

When Kevin's body was found on Monday, floating on the river, deep wounds and cuts were found in his body, and his internal organs were also found damaged.

The funeral will be performed on May 29.
