A Kerala High Court judge withdrew from hearing an anticipatory bail plea of Advocate C P Udayabhanu, accused in the murder of a real estate dealer.

Justice P Ubaid, while recusing himself from hearing the matter, made it clear that the lawyer cannot be arrested till the matter is heard by another bench.

Earlier, the court had directed the police to produce all material collected by them against the lawyer in connection with the killing of 46-year-old real estate dealer Rajeev.

Rajeev was found dead in a deserted building at Chalakudy in Thrissur district last month. His son also impleaded himself in the anticipatory bail plea and produced some documents before the court.

Earlier, the prosecution had informed the court that the lawyer has been named as the seventh accused in the case and handed over evidence against him in a sealed cover. It had claimed the petitioner had links with Rajeev
