A special court in Thiruvananthapuram has rejected a petition asking for a CBI probe, submitted by the woman who is involved in the now-infamous godman bobbiting case of Kerala.

The POCSO court on Thursday also pulled up the woman for retracting her statements in the case frequently, and stated she wasted the court's time by submitting unwanted petitions. The court made the observation while considering the woman's plea seeking CBI investigation into the case, citing she has no confidence in the police probe team.

The judge also agreed to the prosecution’s argument that it does not fall under the jurisdiction of the POCSO court. Earlier this week, the court had rejected a bail plea from bobbited godman Sreehari aka aka Swami Gangeshananda.

The controversial case, which grabbed national headlines, has undergone a few twists and turns since the incident took place in Thiruvananthapuram on May 18.

The woman had initially told the police that she cut off the godman's genitals when he made sexual advances towards her. She also alleged that Sreehari had been misbehaving with her ever since she was minor, following which the trial was handed over to the POCSO court.

She retracted her statement last week, claiming the godman never misbehaved with her and that she was forced to implicate him in the case. The victim then sensationally turned against her alleged boyfriend Ayyappadas and filed a police complaint accusing him of sexually abusing her for years. She also visited Sreehari at the hospital.

Meanwhile, DGP TP Senkumar ordered to hand over the case to the Crime Branch. The city police have been investigating the case so far.
