Actor Dileep met his family members at his brother Anoop's house in Aluva on Tuesday evening, 85 days after his arrest on charges of conspiracy in the Kochi actress attack case.
Hundreds of Dileep supporters had assembled outside the house after news spread that the actor got bail. They burst into cheers and celebrations when Dileep arrived there in Anoop's car after being let out from jail.
Dileep quickly went inside to meet his family members but came out minutes later with wife Kavya Madhavan and other relatives. He waved to his fans, thanking them for their unconditional support during the last three months.
The crowd continued to grow in strength and the celebrations continued late into the night. Dileep came out to the balcony in the night to acknowledge the crowd once again and even cracked jokes with them.
Several persons from the film industry who are close to Dileep, such as actor Kalabhavan Shajon, visited him and the family at Anoop's house in the night.
Justice Sunil Thomas imposed stringent conditions while granting bail to the 49-year-old and said he should not tamper with evidence. The judge also said he should not influence or threaten the victim or witness by any means including words expressed through print and electronic media.
Dileep should surrender his passport, deposit a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh and two solvent sureties for the like amount besides appear before investigating officers as and when required, the court said.
In the event of Dileep violating any of the conditions of his bail, the court said it shall be open to the magistrate to take steps in that regard, including cancellation of bail after notice.
