Actress attack and arrest of Dileep were the most discussed topic in Kerala over the past few months. The latest report related to the issue is that Union Government is interfering in the case.

If reports are to be believed, the Prime Minister's Office took action following a complaint filed by Salim India, a member of FEFKA-Film Employees Federation of Kerala. Salim had sent a fax message to the Prime Minister seeking intervention in the case.

The FEFKA member had alleged that extension of remand period of Dileep was suspicious and that statements given by special investigation team probing actress attack case cannot be taken at face value.

He had also alleged that the actor was trapped in the case.

Dileep's mother had earlier submitted a complaint with the state government that there was a conspiracy behind the arrest of actor and a probe must be conducted into this. Several other allegations were also raised against police officials who investigated the case.

However, the state government did not interfere in the issue. Those supporting the actor had been seeking a CBI probe in the case.

The actor got bail only after spending 85 days in jail.
