Kerala couple committed suicide in Delhi hotel room after woman's husband exposed affair
- The bodies of Suresh Kishore, 29, a native of Alappuzha, and the woman were found from a room in hotel Aman Deluxe in west Delhi on Saturday
- The woman had not been identified earlier. However, on Sunday, it was found that she was Suma Kiranan, 32, the wife of one of Suresh's cousins
- Suma and Suresh were seen together on Diwali, and her husband and other members of the family suspected that the two were having an affair
- In a suicide note written in Malayalam, Suresh had apologised to his mother for taking the extreme step
FollowA day after the bodies of a Keralite couple was found in a hotel room in Delhi's Rajouri Garden, the police said the two allegedly committed suicide as their family members put pressure on them to end their illicit relationship.Â
The bodies of Suresh Kishore, 29, a native of Alappuzha, and the woman were found from a room in hotel Aman Deluxe at Vishal Enclave on Saturday. The duo had checked into the hotel as husband and wife.Â
The woman had not been identified earlier. However, on Sunday, it was found that she was Suma Kiranan, 32, the wife of one of Suresh's cousins. The faces of the bodies were covered in cellulose tape, and the data from their mobile had been wiped out.Â

Suma was working as a nurse at the RML Hospital at Connaught Place, the police said, adding that she stayed with her husband and four-year-old son near Uttam Nagar.Â
Suresh, an engineer by profession, had left Kerala on October 13 and arrived in Delhi on October 15, the police said. He then went to Jaipur, where he had got a job. He came back to Delhi for Diwali a couple of days later.Â

Suma and Suresh were seen together on Diwali, and her husband and other members of the family suspected that the two were having an affair. A quarrel had ensued and both of them were asked to end their affair, the police said.Â
It is suspected that the duo took the extreme step due to the humiliation. They booked the hotel room in Aman Deluxe online, the police said, adding that in a suicide note written in Malayalam, Suresh had apologised to his mother for taking the extreme step.Â
Suresh and Suma had gagged themselves with cellulose tape. It is suspected that they had consumed a poisonous substance before putting the gags on. The post-mortem report is awaited.
