Kochi is all set to host FIFA U-17 World Cup, one of the biggest events in the sporting history. Extensive arrangements are being made by city police for the smooth conduct of the matches at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor.
Top teams from across the world are taking part in the tournament and Kochi will host group stage matches involving Germany, Brazil and Spain. The teams have already reached the city and have started the training session.
However, the Brazil team, which always has a huge fan base in the state, has already managed to win the hearts of young football aspirants in the city. The team showed a great gesture towards the young aspirants from Kochi by inviting them to join the training session of the team. Brazilian coach Carlos Amadeu invited the kids to join the training session of his team.
The kids were surprised and overwhelmed by the invitation. They were excited to practice with world classs players. "We were excited to practice with the team. It was a very happy day," said one of the kids who got the opportunity to participate in the session.
The team posted a video on their official Facebook account and wrote "Exciting! #Seleçãosub17 gives solidarity class and invites boys from India to participate in training. It's worth seeing the joy of the kiddos!"
