BJP medical bribery row rocks Lok Sabha

The bribery allegation against some BJP leaders in Kerala rocked Lok Sabha session as opposition legislators entered the well of the House to mark their protest.

MB Rajesh MP from Kerala moved an adjournment motion, but speaker denied permission and following this, opposition legislators entered the well.

Congress demanded judicial inquiry while some asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give a reply.

The allegation is that BJP leaders in Kerala took a bribe from five medical college managements in Kerala. However, BJP state president Kummanam

Rajasekharan denied allegations and said that the party is not involved in any such action.

"We deal with corruption firmly. The party will discuss the matter in appropriate forum but what is being heard has nothing to do with the party," he said.

The allegation was that an internal inquiry panel set up by the party found that some of its leaders accepted the bribe from few college managements to facilitate accreditation from Indian Medical Council.
