ADGP Tomin J Thachankary stay 5 star hotel kozhikode refuse pay bill

The senior police officer, who stayed in a five-star hotel in Kozhikode without settling the bill, has been confirmed to be ADGP Tomin J Thachankary.

Thachankary stayed at the hotel on Mavoor Road back in April when he was serving as the head of the coastal police. When he was given the bill, which amounted to Rs 8,519, Thachankary informed the hotel staff that the district police headquarters would remit it and vacated without paying any money.

The bill was sent to police headquarters the next day. However, the authorities there refused to pay it as the ADGP, who is a Grade I official, can only book a room worth Rs 1,500 in a city such as Kozhikode as per rules.

The hotel then sent the bill to the state police headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram but to no avail as the officials there turned them down as well.

Meanwhile, reacting to the reports, Thachankary said he could not pay the amount as the hotel staff failed to produce the bill on time when he vacated.
