- There are reports that Manju Warrier will not be made witness in the case
The Special Investigation Team, probing actress attack case, is taking extra care while preparing the additional charge sheet. The officials are trying to submit a charge sheet without any loopholes for Dileep to escape the law.
The SIT has named Anish, the Civil Police Officer who helped Pulsar Suni to make calls to Dileep and Kavya from jail, as an approver in the crime. Vipin Lal, who is named tenth accused in the initial charge sheet was also named approver in the case.
Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate recorded the statement of Anish. He had confessed to providing his phone to Pulsar Suni for making calls to Dileep from jail. The police officer also said that Suni had sent a voice message to Dileep as the actor was not available on the phone.
Anish also confessed that he tried to call Kavya Madhavan and Dileep twice. The officer helped Suni while he was in charge of Suni's cell at Kakkanad jail.
The officer was suspended from service after SIT got evidence to prove that he helped Suni contact Dileep and Kavya, the main suspects in actress attack case.
Meanwhile, the police are planning to submit the final charge sheet in actress attack case within two days. As per reports Kavya Madhavan and director Nadirshah, who were questioned in connection with the case, will not be named accused.
Earlier there were rumours that actress Manju Warrier will be named the second witness in the case. However, latest reports are that the actress will not be made witness as she informed SIT that she is not interested in giving the statement in the case.
