Kerala police have arrested one more person in connection with an actress abduction attempt by Pulsar Suni in 2011. The arrested is identified as Suneesh, a native of Padichal in Kannur.
The arrest came after police recorded the statements of the actress who managed to escape Suni and his gang. Suneesh was the driver of the traveller in which the gang tried to abduct the actress.
A case has been registered against Suni under Sections 120B, the punishment of criminal conspiracy and 355, assault. The accused is currently in police custody after he was arrested for waylaying an actress and assaulting her on a moving car on February 17.
The case, in 2011 abduction incident, was filed after a complaint given by Johny Sagarika, a music company owner. The abduction bid happened during the filming of the movie 'Orkut Oru Ormakoot' a movie produced by Sagarika. At the time of the incident, the producer had employed Suni as his driver.
Though the group had targeted a young actress, she changed her travel plans at last minute, and the gang picked a senior actor from Ernakulam railway station.
As the vehicle took a detour, the actress called her husband, who is a prominent movie producer, over the phone. Sensing the trouble, the kidnappers escaped abandoning her in front of a private resort in Kumarakom, Kottayam. However, she did not take the matter to police.
Police had arrested two other persons, Ebin and another person an engineering student, both natives of Kothamangalam. Police suspect that Suni had planned to abduct at least three actresses earlier.
