Villas, independent and luxury homes are targeted by hi-tech pimps running brothels. The pimps hoodwink the house owners by giving fake details or offer them lucrative offer to rent their homes. After the recent raids, property owners are in a dilemma to rent their houses

 

The pimps pose as employees of a big company and convince the owners to give their place on rent. Earlier massage parlours were being operated from independent houses at Banaswadi and that too one of such centres was being operated close to District In-charge Minister KJ George's office. Now, the high-tech prostitution was found being operated from BTM Layout.

 

After back to back incidents of police raids at such houses and arresting women and pimps, the property owners are not confident of the safety of the house and villas as the tenants might turn the house into a brothel.

 

Shekhar, inspector at Mico Layout, said, “The latest case of arrest of four pimps who used three women as call girls were arrested. It has come to light that now, pimps target decent homes and villas in residential layouts to run their business. Accused Saravana, Naresh Singh, Farvaze Khan and Usman were arrested in a raid on Monday. They had rented out a villa for Rs 60,000 per month and had lied to the owner that a family will be residing there. They also had submitted fake documents," he said.

 

The inspector also added that the accused had registered an event management company by the name Brigade Platinum and even got debits card, swiping machines from the Axis Bank in the name of the company and used it to charge customers.

 

The residents have been time and again told to check the background of the tenants and visit the house at least occasionally. When the visits are regular, these kinds of incidents easily come to light, and such tenants can be asked to vacate.

 

“The pimps might vacate your house and change locations. But once your house has been used by the pimps, the customers might come back and knock on your doors asking for ‘sexual favours’. Even if you decide not to rent your house again and relocate there yourself, such customers might make you feel embarrassed,” he said.

 

The house owners are also hoodwinked by the house brokers and pimps. Due to the lucrative offer, sometimes the owners do not counter check the documents before giving their house on rent. However, after renting the house, the owners should be on guard. Else, their house might turn into a place for the business of pimps and prostitutes.

 

"There is a fear among the owners to rent their house in the layout now. After the police raids, the house will be identified as the one used by pimps for flesh trade and no one might come forward to stay there," said DS Rajashekhar, Executive Trustee, North East Residential Welfare Association, Bengaluru.

 

“These days such cases are on the rise in extension areas including Banaswadi, Hennur, Kammanahalli, HSR Layout. The owners should be watchful and immediately evict the tenants if they find anything suspicious or report to police,” he added.
