A member of Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar's team was followed and given death threats by two unidentified men near Trinity, Bengaluru.
The man who was walking towards the Trinity Metro Station after work on Sunday, February 4, was approached by two unidentified men in Midford Road. The men asked if he worked for Rajeev Chandrasekhar. When the man answered in affirmative, the men further said, "You work in digital marketing. Do not act smart."
When the member did not react and continued walking, one of the men said, "You stay in Whitefield right? A lot of vehicles run around that area. One of those can run over you."
A complaint was filed at the Halasuru police station.
This comes a few days after Bengaluru Development Minister KJ George accused Rajeev Chandrasekhar of allegedly hindering development works. He also alleged that Rajeev Chandrasekhar is not from Karnataka and serves some vested interests. The Congress minister also threatened to teach him a lesson.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar has, however, said, "I had predicted some weeks ago that Karnataka Elections 2018 would see some desperate tactics from the current Govt. I had predicted plenty of lies, insults, threats and divisive politics."
"My prediction has been proved true and people are seeing it including the insults on the PM. The Congress seems to have added intimidation to this basket of dirty tactics it seems - with the 'Steel Flyover' Minister first threatening to teach me a lesson and now having some hoodlums threatening my team members outside their workplace," he further added.
He has said that he has been threatened by Siddaramaiah's goons many times but it is a doomed-to-fail strategy. Speaking about his team, he said, " I have tightened security for my team and will take all efforts to hunt down these goons."
Talking about Congress' name calling tactics, he said, " As far as Rahul Gandhi’s and Siddaramaiah‘s social media teams performances are concerned - be it insulting the PM or flaying lies about me and many others - I have only one comment to make - which I had said also. You can’t fix stupid! Best to ignore and move on."
On his work towards the development of Bengaluru, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, "My work and efforts to ReclaimBengaluru will continue without pause. The only reality is this Bengaluru will soon be rid of Siddaramaiah.”
