The family of Manjunath Choori who is missing since last week is hoping against hope to hear the news of his return. However, so far, there has been no news of him, yet from the Ministry of External Affairs authorities.

Manjunath Choori, a native of Bagalkot had gone missing from Hamburg City in Germany since June 18. There were unconfirmed reports that his shirt, footwear and cycle were found near a river in Hamburg suggesting he could have ended his life. But, so far the Hamburg police have not confirmed it. The MEA officials too have not said anything about it.
A native of Simikeri village in Bagalkot district, Manjunath was pursuing M Sc in Hamburg for the last one-and-a-half-year. He is a brilliant student and he went to Germany on a scholarship. He had recently visited his home town when his father had passed away in November. He was depressed but the family refuses to believe that he was depressed about it. He was in constant touch with his mother and sisters, back home.
However, his family did not hear anything from him since June 18. His friend Anil Deshpande found his apartment locked for over three days. With no news of him, Deshpande had lodged a complaint with Hamburg police. Anil also informed Manjunath's family about him going missing. He is in constant touch with the family, it is said. Manjunath has reportedly left behind a hand written letter in Kannada. However, the contents of the letter are not known, yet.
