Kharge- Azad bonding: Casual hug or lobbying for KPCC President's post?

A picture of Karnataka's veteran Dalit leader Mallikarjun Kharge hugging Ghulam Nabi Azad has raised concerns among other leaders in the state Congress. Kharge was in Delhi to attend the Iftar meeting organised by the top Congress leaders. Minister UT Khader also attended the meet. It is said that the meeting was on the occasion of Iftar but it is likely that discussions were held to finalise a name for the post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president. Kharge may plan to lobby for himself or for his loyal from Gulbarga region for the KPPC President's post. Dinesh Gundu Rao, former working president is also said to be lobbying for the coveted post. DMK leader Kanimozhi also attended the iftaar meet, hinting at a DMK and Congress alliance in the 2019 elections.
