In the wake of rumours of Bangaldesh infiltrators settling down in Malnad region of the State pretending to be Assamese all district SPs will be ordered to thoroughly investigate said Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy, reported Kannada Prabha.
During question hour at the assembly BJP’s D N Jeeva Raj mentioned that it has come to light that a large number of Assamese have arrived at Malnad and other regions but they are suspected to be Bangla infiltrators. Agencies have cropped up to get them Aadhaar and voter ID cards. This is a dangerous trend for the safety of the State. Officials who are involved in this must be identified and cation taken, he urged.
A large number of workers have joined coffee plantations claiming to be Assamese. But if they are Bangla infiltrators then they pose a serious problem. The coffee estate owners are encouraging them as they work hard for lesser fee because they want a place to settle down. Serious thoughts must be given to this, he said.
Approving of this BJP’s Lakshmana Savadi said Bangal people have reached Belagavi also.
Responding to this Ramalinga Reddy said he would order SPs of all districts to keep vigil and see that their names are not included in the voters list.
