KPCC president Parameshwar has posed a challenge to the State BJP leaders to produce proof of phone tapping by the State government. He said the BJP leaders are lying about phones being tapped, reports Kannada Prabha.
Parameshwar said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has already clarified that the State government has not tapped anybody’s phone yet BJP leaders are continuing to make baseless allegations. If they have proof let them produce it, he said. The Home Ministry has rules and regulations defined for phone tapping. Only in rare circumstances phone are tapped to support investigations. But the BJP allegations that the State government has tapped phone is absolute false, he said.
On the same occasion, responding to DK Suresh’s statement that members of Rajarajeshwarinagar constituency should be considered for Mayoral posts, Parameshwar said MP D K Suresh was exercising his rights. It will be discussed at the party and decision will be taken later, he said.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that there is no necessity for the State government to tap phones of BJP leaders. Such acts are done by only BJP. Congress does not have that culture. They are tapping phones of our ministers and officers he restored. Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy said the State had information about the Central government tapping the phones of State government leaders. But the State government had not made it public.
Howver, both Yeddyurappa and Ashok of BJP alleged that the State government was tapping their phones.
