SIT has arrested another accused in the journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh murder case.

Accused Parashuram Waghmare has been produced before the ACMM Court. He is now sent to 14-days-custody of the SIT for questioning. 26-year-old Parashuram's arrest is said to be a big lead in the case.

The journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead in front of her house by two bike-borne assailants in Bengaluru on September 5, 2017.

Earlier Hindu Yuva Sene leader Hotte Manja, alias Naveen Kumar was arrested by SIT in Gauri murder case. Findings also pointed out that the same gun was used to kill Gauri Lankesh and rationalist MM Kalburgi, who was killed two years ago in Dharwad, Karnataka.

Parashuram's stature is said to have been matching the description of the man who shot Gauri Lankesh. However, SIT has clarified that they did not find any arms when he was arrested. He is said to have been owning a computer shop at Sindhagi.

OneIndia also reported that SIT has allegedly arrested another accused Sunil Agarsara in this case, but no official confirmation in this regard is available yet.
