The Election Commission has given green signal to hold the election on June 11 for the Jayanagar Assembly constituency as election was cancelled due to the untimely demise of BJP candidate and the sitting MLA BN Vijayakumar.
According to the information given by the Election Commission, the results would be announced on June 13. The last date to file nomination is May 25 and on the nominations would be examined on May 26. May 28 is the last date to withdraw the nomination. Congress had already fielded senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy's daughter Soumya Reddy as their candidate and now only BJP is allowed to file the nomination.
Social activist Ravi Krishna Reddy from AAP is another contestant in Jayanagar.
The election to Rajarajeshwari Nagar Constituency, which was postponed postponed due to the confiscation of large amount of voters' ID's will be conducted on May 28.
