While the investigation into the VIP facilities being extended to the jailed AIADMK leader Sasikala Natarajan is still on, yet another privilege enjoyed by Sasikala has come to light. Sasikala is allegedly allowed to use the corridor which has been barricaded on both the sides of the Parappana Agrahara for her personal use, reports Kannada Prabha.

DIG Roopa who exposed the irregularities in the Central prison has now alleged that the barricaded corridor has been blocked for other inmates of the prisons. But Sasikala has been allegedly allowed to use the corridor which has five units where she keeps her belongings, reports Kannada Prabha. According to DIG Roopa, Sasikala has the water dispenser, electric induction stove, tables and utensils to cook for herself, violating the prison rules.

Roopa has also stated that Sasikala has been meeting her relatives, party members in one of the units in the barricaded corridor allegedly in connivance with the prison authorities. "This has been recorded in the CCTV cameras 6 and 7," reports Kannada Prabha.

Although the former DGP Satyanarayana Rao had defended the VIP facilities reasoning that the court allowed certain privileges to Sasikala on medical grounds, the facilities like permit to use barricaded corridor have allegedly not been brought to the notice of the court, reports Kannada Prabha quoting DIG Roopa. She is further quoted as saying this is a punishable offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

It may be recalled here that a video of Sasikala along with her aide Ilavarasi was seen entering the jail premises from outside. There have been reports that she had allegedly gone shopping on MG Road wearing the burqa. While these reports have remained unconfirmed, the allegations of VIP facilities to Sasikala has exposed the irregularities in the Parappana Agrahara prisons.
