Actor, TV host Chandan had died in a tragic accident on National Highway 4 last Thursday near Harihara of Davangere on May 24. But a week later, Chandran's wife reportedly slit the throat of their 13-year-old son Tushar and drank acid herself in a suicide pact.

The son died on the spot but Meena was taken to the Victoria Hospital but breathed her last on late May 31. It was said that Meena was under depression when she heard the news of the death of her husband. This shock might have led her to take the extreme step.

Parents of Meena had a clue that the news of the death of Chandan would be hard on her and so they were staying with their daughter and grandson Thushar for a week at the actor's Doddaballapur house.

But on Thursday (May 31), Meena reportedly slit Tushar's throat and consumed acid herself. She was immediately admitted to the nearby Columbia Hospital but was later shifted to Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru. Tushar's eyes have been donated according to the decision of the family members.

Earlier, the car in which Chandan was travelling along with three of his friends Santoshi, Ramu and Sunitha collided with a lorry and Santoshi too died on the spot along with Chandan. Ramu and Sunitha are severely injured and have been admitted to a private hospital.

Meena and Chandan were distant relatives and had got married 18 years ago.
