ISL to now feature in EA Sports' FIFA 22, 2021-22 season to have 9.30 pm starts
The Indian Super League has made progress to the global stage, as EA Sports would now include it in FIFA 22. Meanwhile, the 2021-22 season is expected to have 9.30 pm starts to weekend double headers.
In a massive breakthrough for the Indian Super League, the tournament has made its way to the global stage. It would be a part of EA Sports’ FIFA 22, set to launch on October 1, following its successful run in the mobile in FIFA 19.
The FIFA 22 version of the ISL would include all the 11 franchise clubs of the tournament and their official kits. The development is expected to attract a wide range of football fan base from India, as well as overseas.
“We are excited and proud to see India’s premier football league, Indian Super League, is set to debut in FIFA 22. The FIFA gaming platform opens unique opportunities for a young league like ISL and its 11 clubs to cater to the fast-growing fan base globally. The digital ISL experience will be a big innovation for the league this season onwards,” said an ISL spokesperson, as per an ISL release.
Meanwhile, the upcoming season of the ISL will be getting underway from November 19, while the schedule for the tournament is expected to be announced next week. The 2021-22 season is expected to bring in a new change, with weekend double header fixtures to start at 9.30 pm.
Speaking to Newsable, an ISL source said that it would allow the players to avoid the excessive humidity during the 5.30 pm starts until now. The regular weekly fixtures would continue to have a 7.30 pm start.
