SC East Bengal's bid to continue with its newly found mojo took a halt, as it settled for a 1-1 draw against FC Goa during the 2020-21 Indian Super League (ISL), at the Tilak Maidan in Goa, on Wednesday. The draw allowed SCEB to rise to the ninth place, while Goa stayed in the third spot.

The match was off to an attacking start in the opening half, with 12 attacks being registered, including five saved Goan attempts from SCEB goalkeeper, Debjit Majumder. Nonetheless, both the sides failed to find the back of the net, as they went goalless at half-time.

The second half saw quick three attempts in the 45th minute itself, including another save from Majumder. However, in the 55th minute, Daniel Fox was shown a red card for bringing down Romario Jesuraj near the box.

Six more attempts followed it until the 77th minute, including another save from Majumder. Nonetheless, 78th minute saw SCEB break the deadlock, as Bright Enobakhare struck with his right foot to the bottom-right from the centre, following an assist from Jacques Maghoma.

However, SCEB's could not rejoice long as just a couple of minutes later, Devendra Murgaokar levelled it for Goa with his close-range header to the top-right, thanks to a cross assist from Saviour Gama. Three more attacks ensured, but to no avail, as the sides shared the honours at the full-time whistle.
