Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) signed off their Indian Premier League (2017) with a consolation win against the Delhi Daredevils (DD) on Sunday. That was the league match of the 10th edition of the IPL.

Kohli was pleased with his team's effort against the Daredevils on Sunday. RCB showcased just the kind of cricket they should have played throughout the tournament against the Daredevils. In that case, they could have avoided the humiliation they had to face. However, what is done cannot be undone and nobody knows that better than their skipper Virat Kohli.

RCB have failed in almost all the departments in this season - be it batting, bowling or fielding. Kohli is the only batsman from RCB to have scored more than 300 runs in the IPL 2017. He also has four half-centuries to his name. No other batsman stepped up to the occasion and helped their side to flourish like they did last year.

However, captain Kohli has already seemed to have marked certain players from the squad, who he would like to retain for the next edition of the IPL. The skipper has not named the players as of yet as it will all depend on the number of players the teams can retain next year.

"It has been a season to forget and reflect on. We have to start fresh as a franchise. Maybe a blessing in disguise. Depends on how many players we can retain. But we do have guys who we have identified. Some guys who have shown right kind of attitude and the mindset to go out there and perform under pressure situations," Kohli said at the post-match press conference.
