- Both RPS and DD have lost their previous matches and they will look to turn things around.
- All eyes will be on Rishabh Pant, who shone in the last match against RCB.
Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) will clash against Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Tuesday. RPS skipper Steve Smith will look to boost the confidence of his side before they take on a low-on-morale Daredevils. Zaheer Khan, the captain of DD, will be disappointed after his side gave away an almost won game to Royal Challengers Bangalore a couple of days ago.
Rishabh Pant was the star of the show but his heroics went in vain as the rest of the Daredevils batsmen failed to score. The bowling department seemed to be doing well and therefore Zak (as Zaheer is popularly known as) is unlikely to make any changes to that department. Zaheer himself bowled brilliantly after a long layover off cricket.
The Supergiant on the other hand, will look to bounce back against the Daredevils. Smith would just accommodate Faf du Plessis in the playing XI and in that case Adam Zampa might feel the axe. Supergiant need more stability in the middle order and no other name could do more justice than Faf. Rest of the playing XI is likely to remain the same.
Surprisingly, RPS have never won a match when they have batted first and Smith would want to change that awful record. Provided RPS bat first, Smith and co. should ensure they don't fumble during the course of their innings against a bowling heavy Daredevils.
