RPS have now won two games in a row and are looking like a settled side.
Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have won six on the bounce.
Mumbai Indians (MI) will host Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in Match no. 28 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday. The fortress belongs to Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians and they have played some outstanding cricket to guard it.
Mumbai Indians have been like a juggernaut and they are breaking through the defence of all their opponents. But they should meet their bogey side - RPS. Steve Smith and co. have been the only team to have beaten Mumbai Indians in this 10th edition of the IPL.
Rohit Sharma will look to avenge the defeat and continue with their winning momentum after this reverse fixture. Smith and Dhoni pulled it off in the previous fixture for RPS. It will be interesting to see if they can emulate a similar performance against a red-hot MI side on Monday.
Dhoni was at his imperious best in the last game for RPS and he pulled off a screamer of a run chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad. When the runs start flowing from the former Indian captain's bat, things start turning to be interesting.
Both Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant are unlikely to make any changes to their playing XI for this upcoming encounter.
Mumbai Indians: Parthiv Patel (wk), Jos Buttler, Nitish Rana, Rohit Sharma (C), Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mitchell Johnson, Jasprit Bumrah
Rising Pune Supergiant: Ajinkya Rahane, Rahul Tripathi, Steven Smith (C), Ben Stokes, MS Dhoni (wk), Manoj Tiwary, Imran Tahir, Rajat Bhatia, Shardul Thakur, Rahul Chahar, Daniel Christian/Faf du Plessis.
