Robin Uthappa is one of the clean hitters of the cricket ball and yet again he proved that fact correct when he played an incredible knock against Rising Pune Supergiant on Wednesday. Uthappa put up a brilliant partnership of 158 runs with his skipper Gautam Gambhir and powered Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a commanding win.

Uthappa has been phenomenal at the top of the order for Knight Riders. He has been extremely handy with his piece of willow. The Karnataka batsman has had a lot of success at this franchise and he is continuing to show his worth.

The stylish right-handed batsman has already notched up 272 runs in 7 innings at an average of 38.85. Uthappa has also been striking at 165.85 in this edition of the IPL. Surprisingly, he has been favoured at the no.3 position instead of the opening slot because Sunil Narine has given KKR some great starts. As a result, Manish Pandey comes in at no.4.

Uthappa still wants to get back into the Indian cricket team and he has been pushing his case for quite some time now. The way he batted against RPS was incredible. We did witness some of the cleanest hits in this season of the IPL. His innings of 87 runs from 47 balls was decorated with six sixes and seven boundaries.

He proved yet again why is he so lethal weapon at the top order and he is surely going to add some more runs to his already existing tally. He has been one of the keys to KKR's success over the past few years and he would want to emulate the same performance in the remainder of the IPL 2017 as well.
