- Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are likely going to come back to the playing XI.
- Shane Watson confirmed this at the post-match presentation on Saturday.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans were finally smiling on Saturday when their side got the better of Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs in the their first home game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. But these smiles became broader when stand-in captain Shane Watson announced at the post-match presentation ceremony that the RCB stars - Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will be back for their next match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
This is a huge news for RCB as they are going to get bolstered like never before. The very presence of Kohli and De Villiers does make a lot of difference. Now they will be up against a rejuvenated KXIP side, who ousted Rising Pune Supergiant in their first game. Both sides are coming into this fixture on the back of respective wins. This encounter will be crucial for both sides as they would want to keep the momentum going in IPL 2017.
KXIP were excellent against RPS as they put up a terrific all-round show, be it with the ball or bat. The captain Glenn Maxwell is in form and he is all set to lead his side from the front. His blistering knock against RPS would be duly noted by the RCB bowlers before they walk out in the middle.
For RCB, the top order needs to get runs and the seamers need to contribute more up front with the new ball. Chris Gayle has failed to fire in the first couple of matches and he would also want to get some runs under his belt. Nonetheless, a thrilling encounter is on cards.
