KXIP vs RCB Team news and likely XI

The big news coming in at this moment is AB de Villiers will be up for selection for Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) next game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Monday. This would mean a world of confidence to the side which is yet to find its mojo. They have been missing their two superstars since the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 and probably the time has arrived to unleash the beasts.

However, Virat Kohli might take a bit longer to recover from his shoulder injury and his return is also nearing. The two superstars have been practising with the rest of the team in the net sessions and they are looking good so far.

If AB de Villiers comes in then Chris Gayle might feel the axe as he has not been scoring runs and that is what RCB needs from him at the top of the order. Billy Stanlake bowled well in the last game and he is likely to retain his place as well.

Here's what AB de Villiers had to say about his availability for the next game against KXIP:

KXIP on the other hand, would want some more firepower at the top of the order. Therefore, Hashim Amla might have to make way for Martin Guptill and Maxwell might also be tempted to play Eoin Morgan in the middle order as well. Things went for KXIP in the first game and they would not want to tinker with their winning combination much.

Likely XIs:

Kings XI Punjab: Manan Vohra, Martin Guptill, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Glenn Maxwell (C), David Miller, Eoin Morgan/Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Swapnil Singh, T Natarajan.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Shane Watson (C), Mandeep Singh, AB de Villiers, Kedar Jadhav, Stuart Binny, Vishnu Vinod (wk), Pawan Negi, Iqbal Abdulla, Billy Stanlake, Tymal Mills, Yuzvendra Chahal.
