KKR lose out on Shakib al Hasan - huge setback just before IPL 2017 playoffs

FollowShakib al Hasan has been an important cog in the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side in the last few seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. The talented all-rounder from Bangladesh did not play an important role in this season and he will not be playing any further part in this campaign for KKR.Â
The left-handed all-rounder has left the KKR camp for national commitments. Bangladesh will be involved in a tri-series in Ireland as a build-up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Therefore, Shakib flew to Ireland on Thursday night.Â
However, Shakib could only feature in one match for KKR in the IPL 2017. He was taken for a lot of runs and did not have any impact with his bat as well. It remains to be seen whether KKR would actually miss the like of Shakib in their ranks.Â
