IPL highlights KXIP thrash hapless RCB by 8 wickets

It was like a stroll in the park for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) as they thumped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 8 wickets with 33 balls to spare. For the second time, RCB have been thrashed in IPL 2017. RCB went down without a fight when they were trying to defend a paltry total of 148 runs.

Shane Watson had won the toss and they had elected to bat first. The wicket was taylor made for the bowlers and it remains unknown why RCB chose to bat first. None of the RCB batsmen fired apart from one man, who defies all physical science - AB de Villiers. What a comeback it was for him as he tried to lead from the front! His incredible innings of 89 from 46 balls with three fours and nine monstrous sixes can be spoken about for a long time.

There was a time when one would have felt that RCB would not even reach 130 runs. But thanks to AB de Villiers, RCB somehow reached a respectable total but that did not help their cause. KXIP reached the target with consummate ease.

Manan Vohra and Hashim Amla got off to a flier. Later Glenn Maxwell stepped into the middle and finished the proceedings with some effortless hitting. Amla and Maxwell stayed unbeaten till the end and made sure that their sides goes over the line quite comfortably.
