IPL 2017: Gujarat Lions Team profile, complete schedule, full squad

Gujarat Lions had a wonderful season in IPL 2016 under the leadership of Suresh Raina. It was their first season and they were right on the money with their game plan. But they somehow lost the plot in the IPL 2016 Playoffs as they had lost both their qualifiers. Having topped the IPL 2016 points table and losing both the qualifiers disappointed the Gujarat Lion fans.

This year they would not want to lose the plot and come up with even better performances. But there are some injury concerns that they will have to deal with initially. Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja are likely to miss the first three weeks of IPL 2017. As a result, Raina will have to find their replacements as soon as possible.

Raina himself would want to get back to scoring ways. He lost out on a contract with BCCI and he will be desperate to get back to the India ODI squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Otherwise, Gujarat Lions are a strong side and they are surely one of the teams to beat in IPL 2017. If they play like they did in IPL 2016, then the other teams have a threat to deal with.
