There were a number of top plight players who remained unsold at the IPL 2017 auction. This list of unsold players had a number of Indian players as well.
A total of 351 players went under the hammer at the IPL 2017 auction in Bengaluru on Monday. But the teams were rather conservative in their approach as the eight franchises bought only 66 players at the end of the day.

However, there were a number of top plight players who remained unsold at the IPL 2017 auction. And this list of unsold players had a number of Indian players as well. Some of the decisions were absolutely shocking. But one should understand that these franchises come into the auctions with respective strategies. So they usually stick to those strategies with some impromptu decisions.
Here are some top-notch players who were unable to find buyers at the IPL 2017 player’s auction:
Ishant Sharma – He had a base price of ₹ 2 crore. No buyers showed interest for the first time his name popped out of the velvet bag. But he was recalled in the second session again by the franchises but unfortunately, he found no buyers.
Imran Tahir – The crafty leg-spinner is the no. 1 bowler in ODIs and T20s and yet he found no buyer. The thoughts about foreign spinners on Indian soil still did not make its way out of people’s head. His base price was just ₹ 50 lakh.
Brad Haddin – The attacking wicket-keeping batsman also did not find any buyer. He has truckloads of experience under his belt and could have been a wonderful addition to the IPL 2017. Probably, age is what the franchises were wondering about.
Irfan Pathan – The Indian all-rounder did not attract any one. His domestic performance is probably what the teams noticed and they were kind of spot on with the decisions.
Shabbir Rahman – The Bangladeshi all-rounder would have made a lot of difference in the IPL 2017. He is a livewire on the field. He can hit the ball a long way, he also picks up wickets with his off-breaks. He also is quite aware of the conditions and the pitches as they are similar to Bangladesh. But found no buyer despite having a base price of just ₹ 30 lakh.
Alex Hales – The wicket-keeper batsman is usually very handy right at the top of the order. He can send the cricket ball out of the parks with consummate ease. But his performance in the recent India probably disappointed the buyers.
Michael Klinger – One of the most experienced T20 players from Australia, Klinger yet again had a wonderful run with his willow in the recently concluded Big Bash League. Unfortunately, he went unnoticed as well.
Colin Munro – One of the most devastating batsmen, Munro also could not lure any franchises to rope him in for the upcoming IPL 2017.
James Neesham – Munro’s fellow teammate, who is an all-rounder, also was not good enough to find himself a team in the IPL 2017 auction.
Andre Fletcher – The West Indian had a wonderful ICC World T20 2016 with the bat right at the top of the order. He also had a decent Caribbean Premier League but could not find a buyer at the IPL 2017 auction.
