IPL 2017 auction kick-started on a high note on Monday in Bengaluru as the franchises splurged their money on the star players that they want in their respective sides for the upcoming edition of the T20 extravaganza.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes became the most expensive foreign player in the history of the IPL. He was roped in by the Rising Pune Supergiants for a whopping ₹ 14.5 crores. England seamer Tymal Mills too was not too far behind his Three Lions teammate. Mills grabbed a mega deal from the Royal Challengers Bangalore of ₹ 12 crore.

Kolkata Knight Riders also broke their banks for English all-rounder Chris Woakes and New Zealand seamer Trent Boult. The other franchises also did a fair amount of purchases. The second session of the IPL 2017 auction is already on its way.
