- Sunrisers Hyderabad are just one win away from securing a top four finish.
- David Warner-led SRH are the defending champions and they would desperately want a top-four finish.
Gujarat Lions (GL) will welcome Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in an all-important clash at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Saturday afternoon. David Warner and his side cannot afford to lose this game. If they do, then SRH will have to root for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) to beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their final game.
SRH were off to a terrific start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 campaign but things fell apart midway through the tournament. They lost the momentum and that hurt Warner and co. Therefore, they are here today, facing a do-or-die situation.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Lions are coming into this fixture on the back of a loss against the Delhi Daredevils. They could have won that game but some extraordinary batting from Shreyas Iyer sealed the deal for the Daredevils.
Gujarat Lions have nothing to lose and they will be looking forward to playing some good all-round cricket cricket in their last game of the IPL. This could well be the franchise's last ever match in the IPL. Thus, SRH will be wary of that and should look to avoid that defeat which can hurt them even further on Saturday.
