Gujarat Lions are getting depleted and this is not a good sign for them. A few days ago, they got to know they will not get the services of Dwayne Bravo and now they have got the intimation from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) that Jason Roy will not rejoin Gujarat Lions for the remainder of the tournament.

Roy has already left for England to join the squad for the ODI series against Ireland. He was supposed to get beck to India to rejoin the Suresh Raina-led side but that is not happening. Roy will be joining Surrey to feature in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

"This was always going to be a difficult summer in terms of managing the workload on our England players; With such a hectic schedule including the Champions Trophy as well as seven Tests, followed by an equally busy winter in Australia and New Zealand," the director of ECB Andrew Strauss was quoted as saying by Cricinfo.

"All these decisions are taken after consultation with the players, and I know they will be pleased to have the opportunity to play in some important Royal London One-Day Cup matches next week, and then in the Specsavers County Championship later in May and June."

Roy only featured in three matches for Gujarat Lions and he has managed only 59 runs, with the highest score of 31. The English opening batsmen had earlier expressed his disappointment for not getting selected in the playing XI.
