Benjamin Andrew Stokes, (popularly known as Ben Stokes) is slowly proving his mettle in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 for Rising Pune Supergiant. He may not have made a great deal of impact in the first few matches but he is getting into the groove of his when it matters the most.

Ben Stokes has already played a couple of crucial roles in two victories for The Supergiant. He has bagged two 'Man of the Match' awards for those two performances as well. Stokes was the most expensive foreign player in the history of the IPL and critics had raised their eyebrows after the franchise bought him for ₹ 14.5 crore at the mini auction earlier this year.

Critics thought that RPS paid way too much for him and the English all-rounder is unlikely to live up to their expectations in this edition of the IPL. Initially, Stokes was finding it difficult to get into the rhythm but slowly he is proving the fact right - so as to why he is referred to as one of the best all-rounders in the world.

His match-winning 19th over against Mumbai Indians is a glaring example for the critics. He gave away just 7 runs in that over when Mumbai Indians needed 24 from the last 12 balls. As a result, Rohit Sharma and co. had to get 17 from the last over, which eventually they could not get.

RPS fans will have to patient with Stokes as this is just midway through the IPL season and there's plenty of cricket to be played.
