Aaron Finch Andrew Tye blow RCB out of the park

Yet another disappointing day on the field for Virat Kohli and his side as they were handed a drubbing by Gujarat Lions. Aaron Finch and skipper Suresh Raina completed the run chase easily with more than six overs to spare at the end.

RCB set them a paltry target of 134 and it was never going to be difficult for Gujarat Lions. Although the Lions lost  a couple of early wickets in the form of Ishan Kishan and Brendon McCullum but that did not stop Finch from getting off to a blistering start.

Finch had no intention of stopping once he got started. He took on every single bowler that bowled at him. His innings of 72 runs from 34 balls was decorated with five fours and six monstrous sixes.

Although Finch got out while trying to heave one out of the park but Raina made sure that he sends his side over the line with consummate ease. With this loss, Gujarat Lions have climbed up to the sixth spot in the IPL 2017 points table. RCB as a result, slipped to the seventh spot. Now Kohli and co. will have to win all their remaining games in order to give them any chance of making it to the playoff stage.

Brief scores:

RCB 134 all out in 20 overs; Pawan Negi 32, Kedar Jadhav 31; Andrew Tye -- 4-0-12-3 | Gujarat Lions 135/3 in 13.5 overs; Aaron Finch 72, Suresh Raina 34*
