Om Shanti Sharma, 40, from Jaipur is on a dharna from past one month at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The reason for the dharna is that Shanti wants to marry Narendra Modi. Shanti believes that Narendra Modi is alone just like her and she wants to serve him.
"I was married earlier but the relation didn't last long. I am alone since past many years. I refused a lot of marriage proposals and now I am here to marry Narendra Modi," India Today quoted Shanti saying.
She has been on this sit-in since September 8. Shanti told that she has been betrayed by her husband, and in such a situation, her sufferings can only be understood by Narendra Modi and she said Prime Minister Modi is older than her and she wants to serve him.
"When people here about this, they often laugh at me. I want to tell them that I just don't want to marry Modi ji because I have thing for him, it is also because I respect him. In our culture, it has been taught since childhood to respect elders and help them in their work. I want to do my bit and help," Shanti said. She has clarified that her mental condition is fine.
Shanti has a 20-year-old daughter from her first marriage. "I have a lot of land back in Jaipur. I have planned to sell some of them and buy some gifts for Modi. I will remain on a sit-in till the time Modi ji comes to meet me," she told India Today.
