The Supreme Court today will hear the plea by Arvind Kejriwal government on the status of Delhi’s statehood.

The plea seeks a demarcation of central government’s role in the administration of the National Capital, according to a report in the Hindu.
Yesterday in a blow to Kejriwal government, the Delhi High Court ordered that Delhi is a Union Territory, and Lieutenant Governor is the administrator.
The order also meant that some decisions taken by the Kejriwal government without the nod of the Lt Governor Najeeb Jung would be quashed.
The AAP government’s appeal to the Supreme Court contends that the Centre has been encroaching into its administrative territory and urges that apex court to delineate and define the power of Lt Governor, who acts as the central government’s agent and the state government.
The AAP is seeking clarification on a host of subjects included in State List II of the Indian constitution.
The AAP government's plea to Supreme Court similar to that of the plea filed in the Delhi HIgh Court.
