Rajasthan governor reviews law and order situation with CM Ashok Gehlot after priest murder

Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra discusses the state’s law and order with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over alleged burning of a priest in Karauli and the Barmer rape case. Ashok Gehlot has assured that cases will be investigated, and the culprits won't be spared.

Jaipur: Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra met the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot to discuss the alleged burning of a priest in Karauli.

The governor has also discussed the Barmer rape case and revied the state's law & order with the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

According to sources close to the governor, Ashok Gehlot has expressed concern and has assured that cases are being probed and the culprits will not be spared.

The family of the priest Babulal have put forth their demands to the government of Rajasthan.

While Om Prakash Meena, SDM, Karauli, has said that the officials are requesting the family members to perform last rites of the priest, the priests’ family are denying doing so.

Though it has been two days since the priest was murdered the family members stated that they would not perform last rites of the body till their demands were met.

The family members have demanded the government to compensate their loss with Rs 50 lakhs a government job for one of the family members.

Seeking protection, the family members demand that all the accused must be arrested, and action should be taken against policemen who are supporting the accused.
