Nagpur: A Shiv Sena leader was suspended from the party and the Nagpur Police have booked him in an extortion case after he allegedly occupied a flat and demanded Rs 30 lakh from a businessman who had taken a loan from him in 2010.
The accused has been identified as the Shiv Sena’s Nagpur unit president Mangesh Kadao. He was suspended from the party.
As per a report, the accused and his associates, after reportedly taking possession of the victim's flat located on Central Bazaar Road in Nagpur, forced him to sign on a blank stamp paper.
Following a complaint, a case was registered against him on Sunday (July 26). The accused is said to be involved in many crimes and at present, nine cases are pending against him at various police stations, and investigation in seven more complaints is underway.
Although the complainant had returned the loan amount, the accused and his associates allegedly demanded Rs 30 lakh from the victim to vacate his flat.
The accused is said to have been arrested over other cases and police are investigating.
