Mysuru: Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa performed puja to the Nandi Dhwaja at the Mysuru palace at 2:59pm.

The CM was accompanied by Minister ST Somashekar, Mysuru DC Rohini Sindhuri, Mysuru mayor Tasneem and other dignitaries.

BS Yediyurappa performed the Nandi Dhwaja puja at the Balarama gate of the palace between 2:59pm and 3:20pm in the auspicious Makara Lagna.

CM Yediyurappa will further offer puja to the idol of Chamundeshwari along with other dignitaries. The Jamboo Savari which will happen inside the palace premises will be held between 3:40pm and 4:15pm during the Kumbha Lagna.

After the procession 21 cannon shots will be fired after which the National Anthem will be played.

Meanwhile, the Mysuru district administration has imposed Section144 around Mysuru Palace to avoid gathering of public around the palace during the festivities happening the entire day.

The Mysuru police have locked down all the roads connecting the place to stop all those who may flock towards the palace to have a glimpse of the Jamboo Savari. Only those who have a valid pass to witness the procession are being allowed in and around the palace.
