Man on Bengaluru-bound flight attempts to open emergency door mid-air, booked

A man from Andhra Pradesh, identified as Venkat Mohit Achari, has been booked for an incident on a mid-air flight bound for Bengaluru. The police reported that the man's actions were driven by a mental condition. During the journey on flight Air France 194 from Paris to Bengaluru, four hours before the scheduled landing at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), the individual, who was travelling alone, attempted to open the lever of the aircraft's emergency door.
Authorities promptly responded to the situation and took necessary actions to ensure the safety of all passengers on board. It is reportedly said that Venkat is a techie, who works for a US grocery company as a data engineer. He told the police that he wanted to check the arming and disarming functions of the emergency door.

Post landing at the KIA airport, the crew members of the airline asked the police to detain the person. He was arrested at the airport under Aircraft rules - 1937 and IPC 336 - Act endangering life or personal safety of others), and later released on bail, said reports.
