Success story of anganwadi worker's son who bagged Rs 1.8 crore job with Facebook

Bisakh Mondal, a Jadavpur University student from Kolkata, recently made news for landing a job with Facebook in London with a 1.8 crore yearly salary. Mondal had also had interviews with Google and Amazon, but opted to turn down the Facebook offer. "I believed Facebook would be the greatest option because of the big salary package they provided," he stated to India Today.

Interviewing with Facebook, Google, and Amazon is a difficult task, and Bisakh told Indian Express, "In the previous two years during the Covid-19 epidemic, I got the opportunity to undertake internships at different organisations and collect expertise outside of my curricular studies. This has helped me get through the interviews."

Mondal originates from a poor household in Birbhum, Bengal. Shibani, an anganwadi worker and Mondal's mother, stated, "It is a source of tremendous satisfaction for us," adding that her kid has always been a "meritorious learner."

"It's a source of immense pride for us. We worked really hard to see him reach new heights. He was always dedicated to his academics. He got into Jadavpur University after doing well in his higher secondary examinations and the combined entrance test," Bisakh's mother told reporters.

"This is the first time since the epidemic that students have received such a big number of overseas offers," said Samita Bhattacharya, a placement officer at the University. According to the reports, this is the largest salary package a JU student has earned this year. Previously, nine JU students from various engineering disciplines had landed abroad employment with salary packages totaling more than a crore.
