Thiruvananthapuram: The accused in the Bengaluru drug case had links with Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling, said the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday (September 9).

The ED while seeking extension of judicial remand of three accused including PS Sarith and Swapna Suresh and submitting its report stated that Bengaluru drug case accused had links with the Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling accused.

The ED in the report said that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have received more information in this regard. The officials are also questioning a highly placed individual in connection with the case. The ED clarified that it intends to question 20 more people in the gold smuggling case.

It is also reported that the investigation team is questioning Bineesh Kodiyeri in Kochi. He appeared before the Enforcement Directorate officials on Wednesday (September 8) after being summoned by the agency over allegations of his links with an accused in Bengaluru drug case.
