The Chief Minister has promised to compensate the rain hit families with a cheque of Rs 25,000 by Saturday evening.
The CM also stated that more funds will be released after the inspection of all the areas.
Accompanied by Minister R Ashoka and BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad, the Chief Minister addressed the media.
Speaking to the media Yediyurappa stated “The BBMP officials and R Ashoka visited me at my house, and we had a discussion on further steps to be taken. We are doing a survey of all the areas now. Each affected family will be given a cheque of Rs 25,000 by Saturday evening. Close to 700 families will receive the check. I have discussed prevention methods to avoid the situation in the future. The storm water drain construction which caused the havoc will be completed soon to avoid further problems”.
After many residents, especially women shed tears and complained that the BBMP officials did not help their families, the Chief Minister personally visited a few houses that were severely affected and promised the residents to give them an immediate solution.
