Ramesh Agarwal, the father of Oyo Rooms founder Ritesh Agarwal, passed away on Friday after falling from a high-rise building in Gurugram. According to reports, Ramesh Agarwal fell from his 20th-floor flat in a posh society while his wife, son and daughter-in-law were inside.

Ramesh Agarwal's death occured just days after his son Ritesh and Geetansha Sood's Taj Palace wedding took place. After the wedding, the 30-year-old billionaire also arranged a lavish celebration at a five-star hotel in Delhi. Industry veterans, including Masayoshi Son, CEO of SoftBank Group, also attended the wedding. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister, was also present.

In an emotional statement following his father's sad demise, Ritesh Agarwal noted, "With a heavy heart, my family and I, would like to share that our guiding light and strength, my father, Ramesh Agarwal passed away on March 10. He lived a full life and inspired me and so many of us, every single day. His death is a tremendous loss for our family."

"My father's compassion and warmth saw us through our toughest times and carried us forward. His words will resonate deep in our hearts. We request everyone to respect our privacy in this time of grief," Ritesh said in a statement," the Oyo founder added.

Ritesh started his entrepreneurial career when he was 17 years old. He left college to follow his entrepreneurial aspirations and started working on the online travel aggregator platform that would become OYO Rooms.
