VK Sasikala on Sunday sparked off speculation of a political comeback in Tamil Nadu when she visited the MGR memorial house in Chennai and unfurled the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam flag there. She also unveiled a plaque there naming her AIADMK general secretary.

While AIADMK leaders Palaniswami and O Paneerselvam garlanded the statue of party founder MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa at the party headquarters in Royapettah, Chennai, Sasikala was seen distributing sweets outside the MGR memorial and sending out clear signals to the DMK leadership.

To recall, Sasikala has been expelled from the party.

Another controversy erupted when the AIADMK flag was seen on Sasikala's car with former AIADMK minister D Jayakumar asserting that she had no right to use the party flag. He said he will initiate legal action against Sasikala for illegally using the flag.

Even on Saturday, when Sasikala paid tributes at the memorial of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Jayakumar had said that she should be given an Oscar award for her performance.

Sasikala's now seems to be launching an all-out legacy war within the AIADMK. According to the Sasikala camp, she never gave up the fight for retrieving her position in the AIADMK.

Her supporters said that she had stepped aside during the assembly elections, as she did not want to campaign against the AIADMK and create an embarrassment for the party.

Her actions at the MGR memorial house in Chennai on Sunday clearly made her intentions clear and sends out a message to the party cadre that she is making a comeback.

Sasikala has in the past questioned the credibility of the present leadership with regard to carrying forward the legacy of the MGR and J Jayalalithaa, and that she is the only leader capable of doing so.
